Guru Purnima Celebration
Event Start Date : 05/07/2020 Event End Date 05/07/2020

The festival of ‘Guru Purnima’ is celebrated with much gust and galore throughout India. It is a day when the students or the disciples celebrate the role of their guru in their life. It is actually a combination of two Sanskrit words ‘Gu’ and ‘Ru’. ‘Gu’ in Sanskrit means ignorance or darkness and ‘Ru’ means the remover of the darkness. Basically the person who is responsible for removing the darkness in our life is known as Guru.

This festival is normally celebrated in the month of Ashadh on a full moon day. The gurumuni Vyas Was born on that day therefore the Guru purnima also known as Vyas Purnima. On this day various speeches are read out from the purans and recall the Gita which tells us how important the guru is in our lives.

In keeping with the tradition of revering our gurus for their invaluable contribution in shaping the minds and characters of young people, the students and teachers of D.A.V. International School, Mulund paid their tribute to their Gurus.

This year, Guru Purnima was celebrated on digital media platform by the teachers and students of our school with great admiration and respect.

The Music Department sang a self composed devotional song along with the students of our school. The melodious voices combined together in a video, and the video was enjoyed by all.

The song emphasizes the glory and importance of Gurus in our life.

May the gurus continue to shine and be the guides and torchbearers of society!
